So we had an awesome small group meeting Wed. night.  Two of the home groups at the Heart came together at the Local Lion to fellowship, worship and pray.  It was a great opportunity to meet other people that we have not connected with at the Heart.

Worship was great.  Paul and Noah played for us all.  You could sing along or just soak in what the Holy Spirit was doing.  It is so refreshing to come together as the body of Christ and give praise to God.

Robert and I were prayed over for what seemed like a few minutes, but turned out to be about 45 minutes.  Everyone gathered around us and if they felt lead to pray they did.  They laid hands on us and lifted us up to God.  Several people prophesied over us and it seemed that it was mainly focused on me.  I was wanting some for Robert, but what people prophesied were things that were dear to our hearts.  We will see what God has in store for us.  I thank God for the reaffirming words and the promises given to us.

If you have never been prayed over in a group like this I highly recommend it.  Get connected with a group that wants to be a part of the workings of the Holy Spirit.  Be open and honest.  To be washed in the Holy Spirit is so refreshing!  God is so faithful and wants us to have joy and love in our lives.  He does not promise life will be easy, but that He will be with us through the hard times and good times.

I pray that God will open your eyes to his truths and beauty that is around you everyday.  God bless them with joy!  Help them to share your life giving truths with those around them.  I pray blessings over you; that God will fill your cup to overflowing!

Orientation

I have already packed for the trip.  I am just waiting on a few things that we are still using.  I find it funny that when Robert tells people we have already packed that I do not remember 'We' packing.  We are one, so it is okay, just humorous.  We weighed a few of our bags the other day and a couple of them were over weight.  We will have five check bags.  The weights were 48lbs, 52lbs, 60lbs and 40lbs.  I have done some shuffling around and hope that they are no more than 50lbs.  We will weigh them again just to make sure.

We will be starting orientation at SP this week.  It will run Tue - Tue, with Sun. being a free day.  We are excited to meet the other people that will be going to Haiti with us.  Sounds like SP will have a full week for us.

10 days until hot sunshine!

Jan 19th

Robert and I decided to create this blog for our year abroad.  We hope this will be an easy way for family and friends to keep in touch.  As we got this idea from friends, I was thinking who in the world would want to know what I am doing/thinking.  They explained to us that this is an easy way to post things and people can check on it when they want to.  For those of you that know us well, you know how Internet savvy the Higgins' are.  This blog will be interesting.

Famous Robert quote:  "Everybody is getting on the internets these days."

Count down to leaving: 11 days until summertime
